2023-01-09MABUX: Mixed movements to prevail in Global bunker market on Jan.09.
MABUX World Bunker Index (as index calculated on current prices for 380 HSFO, VLSFO and MGO) did not have sustainable trend and changed irregular on Jan. 06:
380 HSFO - USD/MT – 456.30 (-0.46)
VLSFO - USD/MT – 649.51 (+1.49)
MGO - USD/MT – 996.38 (+2.83)
As of January 06, the MABUX MBP/DBP Index (MDI) (comparison of market bunker prices vs. the MABUX digital bunker price Benchmark) registered no firm trend in underpricing dynamics in the HSFO segment, return of Singapore and Fujairah to underprice zone i.e., all four selected ports are undercharged in the VLSFO segment, and transition of Houston back to underprice zone in the MGO LS segment.
We do not expect any firm trend in Global bunker market on Jan.09: 380 HSFO – plus-minus 1-4 USD/MT, VLSFO – plus-minus 1-4 USD/MT, MGO LS – plus-minus 1-15 USD/MT.
