2023-01-18MABUX: Still no sustainable trend in Global bunker market on Jan.18.
MABUX World Bunker Index (as index calculated on current prices for 380 HSFO, VLSFO and MGO) did not have any sustainable trend and changed insignificant on Jan. 17:
380 HSFO - USD/MT – 471.02 (+3.49)
VLSFO - USD/MT – 688.82 (+9.69)
MGO - USD/MT – 1 042.70 (+6.87)
As of January 17, the MABUX MBP/DBP Index (MDI) (comparison of market bunker prices vs. the MABUX digital bunker price Benchmark) registered slight decrease of underpice premium in the HSFO segment, undercharge premium down while overcharge up in the VLSFO segment, overcharge premium at Fujairah slightly up and no firm dynamics of underprice trend at other selected ports in the MGO LS segment.
We expect Global bunker indices to continue irregular fluctuations with no firm trend on Jan.18: 380 HSFO – plus 4-7 USD/MT, VLSFO – plus 5-10 USD/MT, MGO LS – minus 3-6 USD/MT.
