The MABUX World Bunker Index—a composite indicator tracking daily prices for 380 HSFO, VLSFO, and MGO – continued its decline on Aug.01:
380 HSFO - USD/MT - 479.90 (-1.56)

As of Aug.01, the MABUX Market Differential Index (MDI), which tracks the correlation between market bunker prices (MBP) and the MABUX Digital Bunker Price Benchmark (DBP)—highlighted the following price dynamics across the key global ports of Rotterdam, Singapore, Fujairah, and Houston:
• HSFO segment: All four ports remained in the undercharge zone. The discount narrowed slightly—by 1 USD in Rotterdam, 2 USD in Singapore, and 3 USD in both Fujairah and Houston. Notably, the MDI in Fujairah stayed above the 100 USD threshold, reflecting a significant deviation from benchmark levels.
• VLSFO segment: All four selected ports continued to be in the undercharge zone. The undercharge margin decreased by 2 USD in Rotterdam, 5 USD in Singapore, and 3 USD in Houston, while remaining unchanged in Fujairah. Houston’s MDI stayed close to the 100 USD mark, indicating ongoing market pressure.
• MGO LS segment: Rotterdam stood out as the only overpriced port, with its premium widening by 1 USD. The other three ports stayed in the undercharge zone, with the discount narrowing by 1 USD in Singapore and 5 USD in Houston, while widening by 3 USD in Fujairah. Fujairah’s MDI continued to remain well above the 100 USD level, reinforcing its consistent deviation from benchmark pricing.
We expect Global bunker indices to maintain their downward trend on Aug.04: 380 HSFO – minus 3-10 USD/MT, VLSFO – minus 3-11 USD/MT, MGO LS – minus 5-15 USD/MT.
